The tide will be a 5km network of public spaces and green areas within Greenwich. Using an overhead and ground level walkway, it will be used for recreation, wellness and culture. This path will link various areas together, such as the north and south, emerging neighbourhoods and ecosystems. The site will be calm and busy at the same time, encouraging exercise of all forms and poses as an easy solution to get from A-B.
Throughout the network, 'islands' will be intermittently placed to promote leisure and they pose as ideal places to admire the view across the Peninsula. The island are each defined with unique trees and give a sense of height.

The space is freely accessible to all and is commonly identified as a 'linear park'. This is an ideal name for the site as it describes a continuous space that can be enjoyed at all stages. It also exaggerates the movement and interactions across each area. The addition of stepping stones, native trees and platforms slows and speeds up the activity, communicating an effective way to make a park that is an irregular shape.

I think that The Tide will definitely interlink spaces and cultures together, and will do so in an understated effect. I believe this project will become a staple to people's everyday lives and will benefit many. The mental and physical positives it will have on members of the public will prove to be beneficial and requires such an easy concept- a linear park that branches spaces together.
As well as the project being a place to improve wellbeing, it is also impressive and stunning from an aesthetic standpoint. I think that if you were to create such a long space that travels across so many areas, it needs to be liked by whoever sees it, and this includes thousands of people everyday. I believe this has been achieved by incorporating simple, but bold structures that reflect light.
