Scribble Art

 PART 1

Scribble Art - Pencil

By Sophie Wiseman

Earlier I posted a drawing of Sezincote Estate in pencil and pastel colours, however I wanted to attempt to recreate the colours on this location using alcohol markers.

First, I roughly sketched using a Hb pencil and then layered using a 6B pencil. I used the scribbling technique to get an impression of movement of the leaves and to recreate texture of the planting. Also, I used darker lines for areas that were in the foreground to add perspective. It isn't a detailed drawing, but does show that simple marks can produce a compelling picture. (Refer to last post)

The large empty spaces between the planting gives the impression that this space is removed from the rest of the Estate and seems more private. The white sections to the drawing also allow for interpretation - Are there more trees that haven't been drawn or is there a boundless field surrounding this space? This can be determined with the use of colour and will be considered in the next post.
