Scribble Art 2
PART 2
Scribble Art - Alcohol Markers
By Sophie Wiseman
I photocopied the pencil drawing I produced in the last post, as I didn't want to ruin the drawing I had already created. I began adding alcohol markers of different colours in the same rushed method as last time. This gave the impression that I had been drawing at the site, amongst the wind and moving vegetation.
I didn't include large areas of solid colour as it would have seemed too structured and there wouldn't be a definite focal point. In the picture I produced, I feel the tree in the centre may be the focal point due to its contrasting colours against the surrounding trees, however the business of the composition may also lead your eye around the boarder of the page. This is an unusual effect, but creates a sense of enclosure.
I have found that after using water colour paint or markers I naturally go to use a black fine liner pen to further outline certain objects. I'd like to improve on this in the future as I want to draw something that I feel represents enough information without having to add black fine liner or a white pen to add highlights.
