Development (DP 2)
Site Development
Using my previous work, I studied the various compositions that could be utilised in my final design.
I fins this to be effective as the lighter areas resemble the carpark space and the other shades reflect and imitate the shape of the carpark to link concepts and form across the site.
I did consider using a paint splatter technique to create a similar outcome. I feel this would be useful as it may identify the fastest and potential routes across the site, that features an epicentre of social activity and atmosphere. Furthermore this artistic practise of using paint splatters is random, which reflets the randomisation of unsuspected desire paths and cut throughs. Moreover, this makes the process less restrictive and avoids the manual construction that may forget desirable routes and circulation pathways. A key aspect I want to investigate is the curiosity and adventure we experience when entering a new site and I was to use this to make every visit at the site feel new again, this could be achieved by avoiding defined tedious frames that mimic the area's pre-existing system.
