Week 09
Community Presentation
On Thursday we were given the opportunity to present our finalised ideas to the community, in our groups. This meant I could practise my public speaking and challenge myself when answering questions. This also allowed me to better relate to the design we have created and sympathise with the parts that need to be changed or customised for the client.
We found that the community likes the amphitheatre in particular and the customisation of our temporary sails. Furthermore, the use of our model helped communicate our idea further and showcased the scale and perspective we were trying to achieve. Also, the model gave context as to how the site was orientated, this was achieved by highlighting where the Princess Elizabeth Road was, and the Oasis Centre. However some members of the public were not able to visualise where the access point is, currently, and so were concerned with the walkability of the site, as they had forgotten where the main entrance was, from the residential area to the site. To correct this, next time I could quickly describe the current state of the site and the key features that we have corrected.
