When initially drawing the visualisations, I drew each plant roughly so then I could transfer the plants to a separate drawing and duplicate each plant and reshape, depending on the height and place inserted.

Later I found this method to be effective as it quickly represented the design, however, I drew over the placed plants afterwards to create a better effect that was more cohesive. 

Above is a screenshot of the process of duplicating the same plants and adjusting the size.
