Work Experience - Pegasus Group

This week I began my 2-week work experience at Pegasus Group, Cirencester. I was apprehensive to begin work experience as I did not know what the work would entail, seeing as I had never completed professional work before. Furthermore, I was aware that there are many disciplines in landscape architecture that I had not yet been taught. Nevertheless, I began the process and quickly found a routine for myself.

Each day I have been given a different project and a few people in the office to speak to. So far I have spoken to several people working in LVIA, people in graphics, landscape design, and urban design. I have found that within a large business needs different disciplines to work together seamlessly.

Above is a photo of one of the projects I have done so far. I was given the task of drafting the design for a few show home gardens. This was a job that I wasn't aware was available and was very interesting hearing the process needed to design and install the planting areas. Likewise, the brief given to Pegasus Group for this particular project was very long! While completing this task I had to teach myself Vectorworks and how to use a Macbook; these were both considered constraints before beginning the project, but I now feel more confident in these fields.
